On 27th June 2913, over 2,000 entrepreneurs, start-ups, corporates, business leaders and policy makers gathered for ACCELERATE 2013, Britain’s first festival for high-potential, fast-growth businesses.
Bringing together outstanding speakers from the world of business and beyond, ACCELERATE 2013 provided delegates with the inspiration and concrete tools to take their business to the next level.
Amongst the more than 2,000 attendees were the ACCELERATE 250 – a new hand-picked group of the very best of british business, personally invited by festival patrons Lord Young, The prime Minister’s enterprise adviser and Sir Terry Leahy, former chief executive of Tesco.
But the ambition of ACCELERATE was not limited to four walls and one day. from 24th to 26th June, the city played host to a vibrant fringe of grass-roots events of all shapes and sizes, while festival sponsor Gazelle hosted its own Student Youth conference for 300 further education Students.
Building on Liverpool’s successful hosting of the Global entrepreneurship congress in March 2012 – the world’s largest international gathering of start-up champions featuring speakers including Sir Richard Branson – ACCELERATE 2013 also acted as a crucial stepping stone to the international festival for business 2014, cementing the city’s status as a vibrant hub of economic growth.
